Happy Fall

Willa and I spent the morning at Priddy Farms with a good friend of mine and her son. I tried so hard to get a cute picture of Willa in the pumpkins, but I guess a toddler doesn't see the fun in sitting and smiling and looking natural and cute. She was much more interested in...

climbing on the pumpkins

and trying to lift the much too heavy pumpkins

and lifting (and throwing) the little ones (sorry Mr. Farmer)

and sitting on them

and watching other kids smile for their mothers' cameras

so I tried posing with her (without success)

and finally gave up on the pumpkins when the barrel train started running

I thought she was too young for the barrel train.  (She's in the green one)

But I was wrong.  She loved it and followed the rules.  I got tears in my eyes as I watched her little face poke out and smile.

And of course we hit up the hayride, sandbox, swings, and climbing tower as well.

Priddy Farms has definitely become a Memphis fall tradition.  Maybe we'll go back with Matt and try again for a pumpkin picture.

I think that all of your pictures are fabulous!! I love the one of her trying to lift the pumpkin!

You make me feel better in the fact that I can't get mine to look at the camera either! Oh, and I saw a Saturday morning cartoon that reminded me of you....Willa's Wild Life. I had never heard of it before, but it made me think of little Willa Wetzel. :)

Looks so much like fall ... I'm jealous! It isn't quite the same in Miami with 80 degree weather beaming down on you.

Oh, and, I can't help comparing this to the previous years pumpkin patch pictures ... how much bigger she is now.

how quickly each child becomes her own person--and such a wonderful person she is!
