Mr. Turtle and a couple rainbows

I found this turtle on the way home from dropping Willa off at school the other day.  Turtles are one of my favorite animals.  (What does that say about me?)  I stopped the car, grabbed it, and just put it down on the floor of my van.  Then we drove home with it walking around.

My boys loved watching it.  Oliver wouldn't touch it.  Clark was brave enough to barely touch it with one finger.

I was going to keep him for a day or two, but he hated the box I put him in soooo much.  We were worried he was going to tire himself out.  He spent 5 or 6 hours in the box and he never gave up.  He tried to climb out the entire time.  I had to put him in a bigger box.  I couldn't believe he almost climbed out.

After Willa got home from school, she and Matt let the turtle go in a pond across the street from our house.

See you later Mr. Turtle!

We had a rainy few weeks in Great Falls.  We got the brightest, closest rainbows in our backyard during the storms.  They were gorg!  We've been in Great Falls one year at the end of this month.  I am surprised that there are still new things to experience... like the rainbows from the spring rain storms.  I'm sure one day everything in Great Falls will be old hat, but not yet.

Wow! That turtle! It's so pretty. I love the orange on it. It's illegal to have turtles as pets in Tennessee but we've had a few for a day or two before we knew. But none as pretty as Mr turtle! And I love that rainbow that almost makes a full arch! I don't think I've ever seen one like that. So, we had so much fun in Florida and I'm catching up so I can blog about it. I loved it so much. Thanks for your comments! Miss you guys.
